Common damage that occurs on the laptop and how to prevent it

Okay it's actually happen to me yesterday.... my batteries is "Drop" or we can say it was died or can save the power in it, maybe it's because it's too old i've been use it for full 3 years and it still active :) after this happen and i buy a new one, i mean the batteries, i'm looking for how that can be happen and how to prevent it, so... here what i've got when i search it, i found a lot of thing that makes our laptop got damage but i'll tell you the common damage that often happen and how to prevent it, and owh yeah by the way i'll tell you too about the other thing that usually happen too, here is it :

1. Battery Pack Drop.

Generally the battery pack average notebook can be used for 2-3 hours (type Lithium ION). Apparently after the use, battery life is only used for 1 (one) hour or maybe less. If this happens, it means the battery pack has been damaged or commonly called by the term "drop". Over charge is the main cause of battery cell is damaged. Notice the battery indicator on the notebook. If the battery is full charged, immediately plug the adapter out of the notebook. Keep the battery pack on mouseover on a regular basis (up to full charge, then discharge until exhausted). Suppose you plan to not use the battery in the long term, should be used to discharge the battery pack until exhausted, then disconnect it from your notebook.

2. No Display / Blank.

Circumstances where the notebook when the switch (switch ON) did not show any image on the screen / screen, while the Power ON LED indicator, Battery Charge or the hard drive light up normally. This occurs if the notebook were damaged on the memory card or chipset on motherboard. If just a faulty memory card, certainly not the thing that makes the head spin. We lived off and replace with new memory. Another case when the damage was on the chipset (northbridge / southbridge or VGA chipset). Chipset planted directly on the motherboard (onboard) and not for off-off. Damage is often caused by prolonged use of notebooks. Take a good cooling system (coolingFan) in your notebook, whether or not working properly. You can add a CoolingPad that notebook is not too hot.

3. No Power / Total death.

Notebook said no power on / off the total if when press the switch ON, the notebook does not respond to anything. If the notice, the LED indicators on the notebook there is no burning. Do you constantly - constantly trying to push the switch ON in the hope of the notebook will turn on, the damage is not on the components of the switch, but on the power controller on the motherboard. There are several factors the main cause of this damage, among others:
  • The output voltage is not stable notebook adapter (this happened on the adapter is damaged)
  • The use of notebooks that are too long
  • Over charge the battery pack
  • Use battery pack that has been dropped / damaged
  • Short circuit on the motherboard
And then here is few tips how to treat your laptop

1. Do not place your laptop on the floor.
When your laptop on the floor, then stepped on the foot of the risk of a laptop, your children, or pets will be huge. Children will think your laptop and your pet toy can only damage certain parts of the laptop. Also the laptop is placed on the floor will quickly soiled by the dust.

2. Use the stabilizer
If you're working on a laptop using electricity (without batteries), then you should use a stabilizer that can prevent the occurrence of an unstable electrical voltage to your laptop.

3. Do not place any objects between the keyboard and the laptop screen.
Often a person who uses a laptop, then put the papers on the laptop keyboard, then close the laptop. This is very dangerous, because the risk of a large scratch on the screen. Surely you do not want to replace a laptop screen scratched because of it?

4. Do not place your laptop on a surface that is too soft.
For example you place your laptop on the couch is very soft, so the laptop to look a bit lost in the couch. This is very dangerous, because it can inhibit the release of heat from the laptop and make your laptop overheats.

5. Be careful when carrying your laptop in the bag.
Do not use any bags to carry your laptop. Use a bag that was used for the laptop, so things will not scratch certain parts of the laptop.

6. Never drink or eat or drink containing a liquid laying around the laptop.
This is dangerous, because the laptop is very sensitive to the liquid on the laptop, such as a liquid into the keyboard.

7. Never attempt to disassemble your own laptop.
This is a very unwise action. Laptops are not like a radio or tape recorder. Many parts are so small that the manufacturer have been assembled using robotic precision. If you are careless, then your laptop could be damaged severely. Always carry a damaged laptop to a dealer or service center according to the brand of your laptop or notebook.
